ALL THE BEST for your exams!!!

4 05 2008

Tommorow is the start of your exams. Just like you did in the camp when you conquered sometimes impossible challenges and did your best in whatever you did, you can also conquer your exams. Here are a few tips:

1) Stay Calm before taking the paper.

2) When attempting questions, remember the success principles DO IT ONCE DO IT GOOD DO IT RIGHT.

3) Haste creates Waste. When doing questions, read everything slowly and take your time. DO IT ONCE DO IT GOOD DO IT RIGHT.

4) Have enough sleep the night before (7 hours of sleep at least)

5) Drink more water and have a light meal for breakfast … you willl need the energy for the exams

6) Have INTEGRITY. If you cheat, you will only cheat on yourself.

7) You can always control your state of mind before the exams. When encountering difficult questions, REMAIN CALM. Take deep breaths, Sit up straight and  focus on how you can solve the problem in another manner, not on the problem itself. If the inspiration do not come, skip it first and return to it later.

8) Have fun in the process.. TREAT THE EXAMS like a game in your PSP you have to get a high score in!

ALL THE BEST! and i know you can do it!!!

Take Away

2 05 2008

Having completed the Kampong Daze experience and having had fun with the Temenggongs, Bob the Builder, Headmen, Headwoman and Chiefs…it is time to say goodbye and go home. Tho some may be sad as to the end of something fun, lets instead be happy cos it happened. And while we will always remember the memories of those 3 days in the sun, let us focus also on what we learnt from the OUTDOOR CLASSROOM that is the KAMPONG.

We need to remember that CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES. Always and ever, wherever you are, faced with any challenge in life, press the pause button and THINK before you ACT! The right choices will always lead to the best consequences. Like Hard Work and Changing your Strategy when something does not go well will lead to GOOD RESULTS in the exams. Like RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING will often give you friends who will go that extra mile for you. So remember YOU always have the power to CHOOSE! Choose to WIN!

From the KAMPONG we learnt that sometimes life can be rough. Sometimes, when we climb up the slippery slope, we will fall down. AGAIN. and AGAIN. and AGAIN. What’s important is not how many times we fall down but how many times we get up again. In life, no matter what, you can always GET UP again and pull the rope and climb slowly. That DETERMINATION will get you up the slope. COPYCAT the same determination in your studies and no matter how hard it may be right now, you will get to your top grades sooner rather than later!

What other lessons have you learnt? Spend some time to click on the comments button and do share. After all, in the KAMPONG didnt we learn about the value of SHARING? Keep the sharing going …..

A Melting Pot

2 05 2008

At night, we had racial harmony KAMPONG FIRE! Most of us dressed in ethnic costumes as we soaked up the atmosphere of celebration. Mostly it was a celebration of diversity and of the different talents we all had. We all may come from different backgrounds, but it is important to understand and appreciate one another. Dare to be different. Cos there can only be unity in diversity.

We’re All in This Together

2 05 2008

After destroying the crow sent by BOB THE BUILDER….

we learnt the true spirit of unity, of rallying together as ONE with a common burden and

a common outcome. All for one one for all. Each of us is strong in something but we need

to lean on one another for support and added strength to overcome greater obstacles….

like BOB THE BUILDER!

Alone we can do so much but TOGETHER WE CAN DO SO MUCH MORE.

like in high school musical, it says “WERE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.”

Scarecrow Defence

2 05 2008

As Bob the Builder(Gopal Chetti) has sent his crows to eat our plants, we must fight against him. Its up to the villagers to prove to the Temenggong who is best to represent the village against this external threat. First, villagers must go and find resources to build their own scarecrows. And they must work hard to earn these items…Along the way there are lessons to be learnt…

Good Morning Villagers!

29 04 2008

In the morning, the Kampong was divided. The clan of Kakak Tua on one side said they were the best. On the other end, the Badang tribe proclaimed supremacy. So they decided to show off some stunts and displayed their martial art prowess. Then BOB THE BUILDER came back to haunt us. We all asked him to go away! He said he stopped the water system and now he’s going to send his crows to destroy our crops!!! What will the villagers do now??

Night Market

29 04 2008

Bargaining for items at the PASAR MALAM

At the Pasar Malam, we went through an experience

where we had to barter trade and exchange products

with other groups. We had to make sure we had to fulfill

a grocery shopping list that were given to us. The hall

was very chaotic,,,just like a night market…as each of us

was bargaining for a good excahange and be the first

team to complete the shopping!!

Kampong Rocks my world

28 04 2008

We have arrived safely at Kampong Chongzheng and have settled the down. A mogul chetti, Gopal, has went around threatening to wreck havoc and demolish our Kampong. But we told him No way!even thou he offered us a 50 cents coint! We will continue to stand up for our village and only do whats right ….cos after all we learnt that choices have consequences…we choose the right thing…we choose to win!   We played this game called BACK TO BASIX. and its all the traditional kampong games like chapteh, pepsi cola and dog and bone! Though simple it was simply so much fun and entertainment. At the same time, we learnt a thing or two about ourselves and each other. Over herer, we are told to often evaluate and reflect upon our attitudes, values, behaviours in order to be a better person. Earlier in the day, we have written down our goals on a piece of paper…and put it in the wishing well…we will uncover 3 days later to see if we have achieved what we set out to do….The first step towards success is by showing up..the second step is to take action!!!

Were all in this Together

19 04 2008

Dear Parents and Teachers,

Welcome to Kampong Daze. Take a trip back down memory lane and let us recall the good old kampongs where life seemed so simple. What we did in our pasttime was play marbles, catching, police and thief and at night gaze at the stars up above and say how i wonder what you are! Now, as we fast forward to life in the city, often we get stuck and we tell ourselves we want to do great beautiful things, but hey aint life made up of the little things? Just like in the kampongs…….This 3Day and 2Nights will give your child or student a totally different experience from the conventional outdoor camp. Over here, we will bring them back to a place just like the yesteryears of kampong days and they will be engaged in exciting role plays where they will be empowered in their own ways to make discerned choices, achieve learning outcomes tied to real life and as always have an awesome time! Just like a home away from home, they will be exposed to the beauty of nature and the outdoors, learn a thing or two about communal living and seeking first to understand and comprehend life values which otherwise cant be taught in the classroom. So heres to 3 days of fun, enrichment and a whole lot more….Do keep yourself updated with our live! mobile blogging as we report to you the excitement from the campsite thru this blog…
